About Julia AI
Why Julia AI Exists
Julia AI was created from a problem I kept seeing in international education.
While developing software for counsellors helping study abroad students, I had many conversations with students and parents about their journey.
One frustration came up repeatedly: it frequently took far too long to find clear answers to basic questions on college and university websites.
That problem becomes even bigger when a student is comparing five, six, or seven schools. They need to understand admissions requirements, fees, scholarships, deadlines, accommodation options, visa guidance, course details, location, and next steps. The information is usually there somewhere, but it can be spread across hundreds, or even thousands of pages.
For a prospective student, that can be time-consuming and confusing. For a school, it can mean losing a student or parent who was interested but could not quickly find what they needed.
Why Traditional Education Websites Fall Short
I also noticed that most college and university websites ask visitors to send an email or fill out a form if they have questions. Sometimes the responses are prompt. But not always.
A US survey found that as many as 30% of enquiries received no response, and many others took up to two weeks.
On the university side, I spoke with student recruitment team members charged with responding to these enquiries. Many were dealing with email backlogs going back three months or more. They were frustrated because even when they did respond, very few of the people they spent time helping went on to enrol.
So both sides had a problem.
A Better Way Forward
Students and parents needed faster, clearer answers. Recruitment teams needed a better way to support website visitors without adding more pressure to already stretched teams.
Having worked with AI for more than two years, I believed there was a practical way to help.
Julia AI transforms a school, college, or university website into a multilingual assistant that’s available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It learns from the institution’s existing website content, along with approved documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, and other materials. Once added to a website, Julia can answer visitor questions instantly, in multiple languages, using information the institution already trusts.
Julia can also ask simple qualification questions and capture contact details from visitors who want to take the next step. That helps recruitment teams identify genuine interest earlier, reduce missed enquiries, and focus more of their time on the human conversations that matter.
Supporting People, Not Replacing Them
Julia is not designed to replace admissions or recruitment teams. It is designed to support them.
The student journey is personal. Choosing where to study is a big decision, often involving family, finances, travel, visas, and a great deal of uncertainty. A good website assistant should not feel pushy or generic. It should feel useful, accurate, and respectful.
Our Mission
That is the aim with Julia AI: to help education organisations give better answers, capture better enquiries, and make it easier for prospective students to take the next step with confidence.
